First Beach Trip of the Year: Calatagan Spontaneous Trip

I am such a beach bummer. Yes! And since my le boyfriend invited me at Calatagan, Batangas..I couldn’t say NO.  Spontaneous trip again. O.M.G.

I was just a plus one of the trip because it was their family getaway and thank God I had the chance to be invited. Yey! We left Manila at 12 noon and arrived at Calatagan via Tagaytay/ Nasugbu after 4 hours of driving. En route to the beach, we stuck on several short traffics along the road. The long hours driving was a little bit tiring but we were fulfilled when we reached the Playa Calatagan in Batangas. Paradise it is!

The place is still underdeveloped. But there are several structures that were already built like the front gate, the reception area, the pool at Aquatico and the gates at the beach front. There is a large pool slide which will be opened on February. Several pool areas are available since there are several guests coming from. And of course, the beach…oh the beach..is all prepared to be dipped in. Yeah!

When I saw the beach…the water…the sand…the starfish…the low tide…all I could remember was the Burot beach my friends and I went to last 2011. Actually, Playa Calatagan and Burot shared the same coast line that’s why. There was low tide in the morning, the scenery was like a big golf course with shallow water. But as the day went on, the water level is rising and it’s better to swim during the afternoon plus the sun is already setting down.

Since there were no rooms available yet, we stayed at gigantic tents pitched near the beach front. I was so amazed with the tent size since it could occupy 10-15 people. WOW! It was like a big room without the amenities.

We spent the night at the beach front. We didn’t have the bon fire and s’ mores but oh..we had a very wonderful sets of meal. Yay! RIP diet for this weekend. I love the whole setting of the night time. Even though there was electricity provided, the sky was very clear. We witnessed how the moon set down at 5 in the morning and the sun rose on the east at 6:00. It was amazing! See the pictures so I could prove it. Yeah!

I even tried skim boarding..since the water level in the morning is shallow, I had the chance to practice my skills. But, it was that hard to go with the board because it was a little bit scary. I might get bruises and wounds if I tried it hard core. I was just amazed with the skim boarding idea if I learned how to do it. How cool is that.

The sun was striking really hot at 2:00 in the afternoon so we decided to left the resort. It was really tiring and the traffic was really crazy in Tagaytay. We arrived at Manila at 8 or 9:00 in the evening. Gah! I felt happy and excited over the weekend. The hangover of the trip is still in my nerves. 🙂

I thought the Boracay trip on March will be my first beach trip for this year, but I know, Calatagan spontaneous trip was added to my list. I would like to thank my le BF who brought me here. And to his family who welcomed me as always. This experience is a moment to remember because:

1. This was a Zero Pesos trip Haha!

2. I enjoyed the bonding with Le BF and his family.

3. The place is really..really awesome!

4. and…the FOOD! I love the food on the resort.

5. AWESOME PHOTOS courtesy of Boyfriend Kurt..

More photos from the trip! 🙂

  1. HI! I read your post. I have been wanting to go to Playa Calatagan but I do not have friends who owns a lot there so no one can invite me. Can you refer me to your friend who has a membership there or a property owner? Please
